In the early days of this web site the only online source of the large scale Ordnance Survey maps of Hertfordshire from the 1880s was the Old Maps web site. The same maps are now available on the free site British History Online, which also has online copies of the Victoria County History of Hertfordshire, and other material, including indexes of much medieval material and Parliamentary records.
