St Albans & District Local History
Network have circulated the following message which I am passing on in case you haven't seen it:
The 2016
Autumn Conference will be on Saturday 22nd October at our usual venue,
Verulamium Museum. Do please reserve this event in your diaries now, before you
forget! If any of your friends are not on our Network email list please pass on
our email address – sanetwork@me.com – and we will add their address
to our growing list.
We would love
to hear from anyone who has been undertaking research of any kind from any part
of our district; or who has been involved with a project recently. It might be a
community project, or research into a building or an event.
Last year we
were able to enjoy presentations about smallpox in St Albans, Agincourt,
medieval lives, unusual artifacts, school log books, town twinning and a local
cinema which never opened.
You may be able
to help determine what this year’s programme might look like. Please email if
you, or a member of your group, would like to offer a 15 or 20-minute
presentation. We will have room for about eight papers during the day and we aim
to create a well-balanced programme.
We look forward
to hearing from you.
Regards,
Cat Newley,
