Wigginton War Memorial & Revised Village pages

When posting pictures of Wigginton's War Memorial I decided to upgrade the Village pages by adding a proper menu, adding some modern photographs of St Bartholomew's Church and linking in the pages on Champneys and the Cow Roast. Some additional external links have also been added.

  1. My birth surname is Wigington, which I know is an Old English name. My father's & my grandfather's names were both John Howell Wigington. I'd been told by 2 different people (from England) the name sounded like it was from Yorkshire, but perhaps it's from Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, or Staffordshire. Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. My grandfather died when my father was a child (so not alot is known.) I live in the state of Ohio, USA. Thanks for your time.

    1. I cannot reply to anonymous queries - which is why the instructions with the comment box tells you to use "Ask Chris". In practice I can only help if you have traced your ancestry to a named person who was associated with Hertfordshire. Your query suggests you need to get a book on how to trace your ancestors - or join a local family history group.
