The Paper Mill at Sarratt

As part of my plans for including extracts from old newspapers I have just introduced a page relating to the old Paper Mill, on the River Chess, at Sarratt

The cuttings I have found include two adverts for the sale of the paper mill and mill house at Sarrat in 1801 and 1871 (when paper making ceased) and I have added a map showing the mill from 1766, a list of paper workers from 1851, and a modern picture of the Grade II listed Mill House.

NOTICE OF MEETING

Mike Stanyon,  will give a talk about Paper making in Hertfordshire with particular reference to Sarratt and Croxley Mills to the Sarratt Local History Society at Sarratt School on
 Tuesday 20 November at 7.30.
